It's a Good Hare Day
Bath Ales and Blackpit Brewery team up to raise money for Malawi
We’ve collaborated with Bath Ales, on a special limited-edition pale-ale, in support of Brewgooder’s Global Gathering campaign (20th-22nd March). All profits from Good Hare Day (the name for this new 4% Pale Ale) will be donated to sustainable development projects in Malawi.
Good Hare Day (4% abv) is an easy-drinking pale ale, with refreshing orange and citrus notes and a long hoppy finish. The well-balanced and sessionable brew will benefit the lives of communities in Africa, and help fund access to clean, safe water.
The Brewgooder Global Gathering - set up by charitable craft brewer, Brewgooder - is a worldwide mission to provide clean water for one million people through the power of craft beer. Over 250 breweries from 24 different countries have joined the campaign, each brewing their own limited-edition beer. The brews will be collectively launched on World Water Day (Friday 20th March).
Each brewery taking part in the collaborative campaign has committed to raise at least £500 for the Brewgooder foundation, which will support rehabilitation and construction projects. We’ve set a combined target of £1,200 with Bath Ales, which we hope to surpass, enough to purchase a clean water well for a village.
To achieve our target, we will be hosting simultaneous launch events both our taprooms on 20th March at 4pm, with live music, prize raffle draws and - of course - plenty of great beer!
Georgina Young, head brewer at Bath Ales (pictured above) said “We are really delighted to be partnering with Blackpit Brewery and using our shared passion for beer, to help make a difference.
“All of the proceeds raised from Good Hare Day will go directly to the Brewgooder Foundation and provide access to a safe source of clean water for thousands of Malawians. We’d love to sell as many pints of Good Hare Day as we possibly can this World Water Day!”
Ben Williams, Director at Blackpit Brewery, said: “It’s been a real pleasure working with the crew from Bath Ales. To be able to draw on the wealth of knowledge and experience that Georgina in particular possesses has been a real highlight for us and we can’t wait to taste the finished product!”
Good Hare Day will be available in Hare Brewery’s tap room, and select pubs in the Bath and Bristol region, from Friday 20th March.
